It Begins...

I finally got the truck picked up yesterday afternoon. We had our first even remotely "official" FIST meeting this evening. So we figured tongiht was the perfect opportunity to announce our glorious return to action. I'm so hardcore, I dropped everyone else off, then went straight back to the Reg.

We got some beautiful stuff, too. Two trips' worth of mostly wood. I got some pictures to document the occasion. Those will be up sometime tomorrow.

UPDATE: They are up now. They're at my cs website.

Scav Update

I've left the Davin Reed Experience in order to return to my intellectual roots. The FIST is gearing up to kick some major ass yet again this year. We (I can include myself now) lost a couple of key players, including one former captain, to the judges this year. But we've also established a cell in Fallers House (challenging Shoreland's hegemony -- in thier territory), appear to be shifting our BJ-based cell from Mathews to Chamberlain (mostly due to the graduation of our Mathewsniks), and have established unopposed control over Blackstone. The fallout of my defection remains to be seen. There is some possibilty of there being more Breckies involved in the FIST this year. Oh yeah, we're also begining to encroach on Palevsky's territory.

Now I'm off to Ryerson to look at stars.

Bill Maher = Funny

Bill Maher has this post in this morning's LA Times. He does seem to have just the right amount of humor for a good satire.

Yankee/Dixie

I'm 53% Dixie. Go figure. There is some speculation about the computation of the score. I had a lot of Midwestern and/or Great Lakes responses. A couple of Northeastern States. Only one mentioned the West Coast.

I could see Midwest/Great Lakes (I have spent the last 2 1/2 years in Chicago, after all). But as I remember, I've been using the expressions I gave for longer than that. Oh well.

Thanks Maureen for the quiz.

Invasion of the South

I found out about an attempt at a Scav Hunt clone at the University of Virginia over our spring break. There appears to be a possibilty of amuckery afoot. Make that a STRONG possibility. As in:
But in all seriousness, what would you expect of a bunch of drunk FISTies? ("We put the 'drunk' in 'drunk scavvie')

Organization is beginning at my cs website.

Scav Hunt

Preparations have begun for the great Hunt. I'm the leader of the Breckinridge House team, the Davin Reed Experience. We're in negotiations with Hoover House about a possible joint venture between the two Houses. More on this as it develops.

Beatrice

Our production of Beatrice has been scrapped, due to several issues that have arisen. We're in the process of reconceptualizing the project.
